Buy Box
The Buy Box is the 'Add to Cart' and 'Buy Now' section of a listing, and the seller who wins it gets the sale when a shopper clicks buy.
When several sellers offer the same product, Amazon awards the Buy Box to one of them based on price, fulfilment method, seller metrics, and stock. The large majority of sales go through it.
Losing the Buy Box, often to a cheaper or FBA competitor, can cut a listing's sales sharply even when your own price hasn't changed.
Why it matters
Most Amazon revenue flows through the Buy Box, so winning it and holding onto it is critical, which is why sellers watch it closely.
