Cookie Policy
What LumaiScope stores in your browser, and why.
Last updated: 16 June 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how LumaiScope, Inc. ("LumaiScope", "we", "us") uses cookies and similar storage technologies when you use our product-research platform. It applies alongside our Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle the rest of your data.
The short version: we use only the cookies we need to keep you signed in and the service secure. We do not run advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, so there is nothing to opt out of and no consent banner to dismiss.
What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser. It lets the site recognize your browser on later requests — for example, to remember that you are signed in instead of asking you to log in on every page. Related technologies such as local storage and session storage work in a similar way and are covered by this policy where we use them.
Cookies are commonly grouped by purpose. "Essential" (also called strictly necessary) cookies make core features work — authentication, security, and reliability. "Advertising" and "tracking" cookies, by contrast, follow people across different websites to build profiles or serve targeted ads. LumaiScope uses the first kind and not the second.
Cookies LumaiScope uses
We use only essential cookies. They fall into these categories:
- Authentication and session — set by our identity provider, Clerk, to keep you signed in to your account as you move between pages and to maintain a secure session. Without these you cannot stay logged in.
- Security — used to protect your account and the service, including guarding against cross-site request forgery (CSRF) and detecting abusive or fraudulent activity.
- Reliability and load balancing — used to route your requests to a healthy server and keep the application responsive.
Why there is no cookie banner
Under privacy and e-privacy rules, consent is required before setting non-essential cookies — the advertising and tracking kind. Cookies that are strictly necessary to deliver a service the user has asked for are exempt from that consent requirement.
Because LumaiScope uses only essential cookies, there is no consent banner to accept and no opt-out toggle to manage. There is simply nothing non-essential running for you to turn off.
Controlling cookies in your browser
You remain in control of cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you view stored cookies, delete them, and block cookies from specific sites or all sites. Look under Settings → Privacy (or Privacy and security) in Chrome, Safari, Firefox, or Edge.
