FBM · Fulfilled by Merchant
Fulfilled by Merchant (FBM) is the model where you list on Amazon but store, pack, and ship every order yourself instead of using Amazon's warehouses.
FBM keeps you in control of inventory and avoids FBA's fulfilment and storage fees, but you take on the shipping work, the customer-service load, and the harder path to Prime eligibility that comes with it.
Many sellers mix the two: FBA for fast-moving products where Prime matters, FBM for oversized, slow-moving, or fragile items where Amazon's fees would eat the margin.
Why it matters
The FBA-versus-FBM choice changes your fee structure, your Prime badge, and your Buy Box odds, so it belongs in the profit maths before you commit to a product.
