Keyword Research, Reverse ASIN & Rank Tracker
Find the keywords that matter, see what a competitor ranks for, confirm your listing is indexed, and track your positions over time.
The four keyword tools
Keyword Research in LumaiScope is four connected tools. Each answers a different question:
- Search — find keywords for a product or niche, with measured search volume so you know which terms people actually type.
- Reverse ASIN — paste a competitor's ASIN to see the keywords their listing is built around and ranking for.
- Index Checker — confirm whether your ASIN is indexed (eligible to show) for a given keyword at all.
- Rank Tracker — follow your organic position for chosen keywords over time, with daily checks.
Search volume comes from real keyword data (DataForSEO), and ranks are read from live organic Amazon results — sponsored placements are excluded so you see true organic position.
Search: finding keywords
- Open Keyword Research and enter a product type, niche, or seed keyword.
- Review the results with their measured search volume — prioritize terms with real demand over clever-but-empty phrases.
- Balance volume against intent: a high-volume head term is competitive, while specific long-tail terms often convert better and are easier to rank for.
- Build a shortlist of terms to use in your listing and to monitor in the Rank Tracker.
Reverse ASIN: learning from competitors
Reverse ASIN is the fastest way to understand a competitor's keyword strategy. Give it a strong competitor's ASIN and it reads their listing, extracts the keywords they are built around, expands them, and checks where they rank — then scores each keyword for opportunity.
- Pick a well-performing competitor (a GO-grade product makes the best teacher).
- Run Reverse ASIN on their ASIN.
- Look for keywords with real volume where the competitor ranks but the term still looks winnable — those are your gaps.
- Feed the best finds into your own listing and add them to the Rank Tracker.
Index Checker and Rank Tracker
Index Checker — am I even eligible?
Before you worry about your position, confirm Amazon associates your ASIN with the keyword at all. The Index Checker tests exactly that. If you are not indexed for a term, no amount of optimization will rank you — fix the listing so the keyword is present, then re-check.
Rank Tracker — am I moving up?
Once you are indexed, add your keyword and ASIN pairs to the Rank Tracker. It checks your organic position daily and keeps the history, so you can see whether a listing change actually moved the needle instead of guessing.
- Confirm the keyword is indexed with the Index Checker.
- Add the keyword + ASIN to the Rank Tracker to start collecting daily positions.
- Make one listing change at a time and watch the trend over the following days.
- Keep the keywords that climb; drop or rework the ones that stall.
